Protect the Angels, Inc. is a community nonprofit organization (501)(c)(3) based in Queens, New York. Protect the Angels, Inc. was established to ensure that mental health services, substance, and alcohol abuse prevention services, educational, recreational, and sports activities, agriculture, and farm-to-pantry are accessible to all populations and to reduce the economic barriers and health disparities surrounding the quality of life among children, adults, and seniors.
Our goal at Protect the Angels, Inc. is to raise awareness on mental health, alcohol, and substance abuse prevention, empower skill-building, incorporate creativity in therapy, reduce trauma and adverse childhood experiences, reduce poverty, embrace diversity and equality, sustain communities through healthy foods and school supplies, thus building healthy families and safe communities in North America and the Caribbean.

Co-Founder, Dr. Carmen Jimenez, Ed.D., LCSW-R, MPA, CASAC, SAP, ADS, BCB
Born in Canovanas, Puerto Rico of Dominican and Afro Puerto Rican ancestry, Dr. Carmen Jimenez is an award-winning licensed clinical social worker, a third-generation educator, researcher, psychotherapist, author, EMDR Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant, Board Certified in Biofeedback, clinical hypnotherapist, a National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) specialist, a New York State OASAS credentialed in alcohol and substance abuse as well as a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) Assessment and Screening Provider.
As the founder of Counseling Consultation Service, Inc. and co-founder of Protect the Angels, Inc., Dr. Jimenez received a Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master of Public Administration, and a Master of Science in Social Work from New York University and Columbia University, respectively. Undergraduate studies in psychology were completed at St. John’s University. Further, Dr. Jimenez discovered the Mapping Protocol® and coined the term deportphobia®. Dr. Jimenez is a former award-winning independent music executive producer, recipient of the Ciudad Corazón Award at the Teatro Nacional in Santiago, Dominican Republic, Julia de Burgos Award in New York, the Freddy Beras Goico Medal, ACE Awards nominee, and was issued two Mayoral Proclamations from Hawaii. Dr. Jimenez conducts workshops on trauma among immigrants, migration, health disparities, EMDR, violence, alcohol abuse, DWI, and the Mapping Protocol®.
Married to pianist Jesse Rodriguez and with their three children, Dr. Jimenez was raised in Corona, New York. Influenced by her father and mentor, Hall of Fame Civil Engineer, Jose V. Jimenez, born in Loiza, Puerto Rico, Dr. Jimenez was introduced to design and work ethics. On the other hand, Dr. Jimenez’s mother, Bienvenida Jimenez Salcedo, born in San Jose de las Matas, Dominican Republic, introduced Dr. Jimenez to the creative arts.
Co-Founder, Jesse Rodriguez, CHC
Jesse Rodriguez is a professional pianist, vibraphonist, Certified Holistic Counselor, and stress management coach. Jesse Rodriguez comes from a musical family and has traveled to various parts of the world due to his career as a pianist. Trained in biofeedback and personal trainer fitness, Jesse Rodriguez also completed his training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. Jesse Rodriguez is a former youth soccer and basketball coach. Finally, Jesse Rodriguez is passionate about mental health equity, access to healthy foods, culinary arts education, domestic violence, and child abuse prevention.
James Rodriguez is an undergraduate student at CUNY York College, majoring in Social Work. James’ experience includes camp experience through group athletic activities and providing direction of activities to children.
Dr. Nigel Thomas is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the City University of New York. He has an earned doctorate in Health and Behavioral Studies from Columbia University, Teachers College. He has served on the board of the National Commission of Health Education Credentialing, and in the last two decades has held diverse leadership positions in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
Eric G. Glaude is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of counseling and psychotherapeutic experience. He has specialized in treating war zone veterans for the past 25 years. Mr. Glaude is clinically supervised and psychoanalytically trained. His modalities include individuals, groups, families, couples, adolescents, and children. He practices an eclectic approach to treating his clients, which includes counseling, psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis. His clinical background and experience cover a wide area of employment beginning with children of alcoholics at Boy’s Harbor for Boys and Girls, the U.S. Department of Veterans and for the past six years in the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), City University of New York (CUNY), where he is a counselor in Veterans Affairs. Mr. Glaude is an award-winning human service provider with a stellar record of success.
